Who it’s for
Useful if you do good work and then lose touch with clients, missing opportunities for repeat business, testimonials, and referrals. Not useful if the original project did not go well, following up on a difficult engagement requires a different kind of conversation than these templates are designed for.
If it works
If you set up the 30-day and 90-day reminders on the day the project closes, you will follow up more consistently than most freelancers do. The check-in emails are deliberately short: you are staying in touch, not selling. The testimonial request converts better if it is sent at 30 days, when the project is still fresh, rather than later.
Post-project follow-up only works if the client was happy. These templates make it easier to stay in touch with people who already think well of you. They are not for rebuilding relationships that ended badly.
