Admin systems guide

$0.00

A guide to setting up the admin systems that keep a solo comms practice running without constant manual effort.

Description

A guide to six core admin systems for a solo consulting practice: invoicing, document filing, email management, calendar and scheduling, client communication, and financial reporting. For each system it covers what good looks like, what tools work, and how to review what you already have.

What’s included

  • CSV template file (opens in Google Sheets or Excel)
  • Checklist for six core admin systems with set-up and quality ratings
  • Recommended tool suggestions for each system (free and paid)
  • A systems review section to identify priorities

Who it’s for

Useful if you are spending too much time on admin, or if your practice has grown but your systems have not kept up. Also useful when setting up from scratch and wanting to get the foundations right. Not useful if your admin is already running smoothly, and not a substitute for an accountant when it comes to the financial side.

If it works

If you use it as an audit first, rating what you already have before adding anything new, you will usually find that you need to improve existing systems rather than build new ones. The invoicing and filing sections tend to be where most practices have the most room to improve.

Good admin systems do not save unlimited time. They remove the friction of common tasks and reduce the chance of things falling through the cracks. That is a real but bounded benefit.
