Description
A six-issue planning structure for a freelance consultant newsletter. It gives you a content framework, some subject line starting points, and a format to work from.
What’s included
- CSV template file (opens in Google Sheets or Excel)
- Six-issue planning structure with content type options for each
- Subject line formula bank
- Optimal send time and frequency guidance
Who it’s for
Useful if you want to start a newsletter and keep delaying because you do not know what to write or whether it is worth it. Also useful if you started one and stopped after a few issues. Not useful if your problem is that you have no audience to send to yet, the planning template assumes you have somewhere to start from.
If it works
If you plan the first six issues before you send the first one, you remove the blank page problem that kills most newsletters. You will still need to write each one, and whether anyone reads it depends on whether the content is useful to them, not on the planning structure.
A newsletter does not build a client pipeline quickly. It is a long-term trust-building tool. If you need clients in the next month, this is not the right lever.
