Description
A tracker for setting learning goals, logging what you read and do, and capturing lessons from client work throughout the year. It is a simple record-keeping tool, not a learning platform.
What’s included
- CSV template file (opens in Google Sheets or Excel)
- Annual learning goals section by skill area
- Log for books, courses, events, and articles with completion dates
- Lessons-from-client-work capture section and quarterly review prompts
Who it’s for
Useful if you want to develop deliberately rather than just accumulating experience, or if you are trying to move into a new specialism and need to build a body of knowledge to support that. Not useful if you are looking for learning content or course recommendations, this tracks learning rather than providing it.
If it works
If you add lessons from client work immediately after each project, and review the goals quarterly rather than annually, you will build a clearer picture of where you are developing and where the gaps remain. The lessons-from-client-work section tends to be more valuable than the course log for most experienced practitioners.
Tracking learning is not the same as doing it. The tracker is useful only if the learning is happening.
