Who it’s for
Useful if you are delivering content strategy work for clients and want a consistent document structure to work from. Not useful if your client needs a completely bespoke approach, or if the strategy needs to integrate with an existing framework the organisation already uses.
If it works
If the template is used as a starting point rather than followed rigidly, it reduces the time spent on structure and lets you focus on the substance. Clients receive a document that is recognisable and navigable rather than one that reflects how you happen to organise your thinking.
A well-structured strategy document does not guarantee implementation. The governance section exists precisely because most content strategies are agreed and then not followed. Whether that changes depends on the client, not the template.
