Who it’s for
Useful if clients struggle to follow detailed project plans, or if you want something simpler than a full Gantt chart for a straightforward engagement. Not useful for complex projects with multiple workstreams where a more detailed plan is genuinely necessary.
If it works
If you send it before the kickoff meeting and walk through it together, clients arrive knowing what is expected of them at each stage. The working assumptions section is the one most people do not bother with and then find they needed, because it documents the conditions the plan depends on.
A simpler plan does not mean a simpler project. It means the plan is easier for the client to engage with. The underlying complexity is still yours to manage.
