Who it’s for

Useful if you are doing outreach for the first time and things are slipping through the cracks, or if you are restarting business development after a quiet period and need to rebuild momentum. Not useful if your problem is not having enough contacts to reach out to. This organises existing outreach; it does not generate new leads.

If it works

If you update it after every interaction, you will know exactly where each relationship stands and when to follow up. The main benefit is not the tracking itself but the habit of following up, which most freelancers do inconsistently because they have no system prompting them.

Outreach trackers do not convert contacts into clients. That depends on the quality of the relationships and the relevance of what you are offering. This just means you stop losing track of people who might have become clients if you had stayed in touch.
