Who it’s for

Useful if you get most of your income from one or two clients and want to understand the risk clearly before something changes. Not useful if your income is already diversified, or if you are in a slow period and your problem is not enough clients of any kind, diversification is a longer-term goal that requires a working pipeline first.

If it works

If you fill it in honestly and use the planning table to identify specific new clients or sectors to target, you will have a clearer picture of what diversification actually requires rather than a vague intention to get more clients. The exercise usually makes the risk more visible than people expected.

Reducing client concentration takes time and cannot be forced. Ending a large retainer before you have replaced the income creates a different problem.
